Finding your way there

Start by either heading for the Minster or for Betty's. At the Minster, stand with your back to the Minster's public entrance and head to the nearest street opening, there really is only one. Simply keep going straight-on more or less heading South, crossing over Petergate. The Pyramid Gallery is only a short distance from there. If starting from Betty's then head North into the street opening next to the church. Whichever way, whether you're heading South or North, there is only really one obvious street opening to take. Stonegate, an old paved street connecting the Minster and Betty's in the very centre of the city. The Pyramid Gallery is toward the Minster end of Stonegate.

York

The city of York is difficult to beat as a destination with it's long history as a settlement, beginning notably with the Vikings. As well as it's history, a vibrant cosmopolitan shopping centre, numorous restaurants and informal cafes, theatres, public art gallery and city centre cinema, means it really does have something for everyone. York pleases whatever the weather.
