Lynne Roebuck, emerging painter-printmaker, enjoyed a great deal of success during the beginning of 2008 with the prints, and paintings, she submitted to open exhibitions.

This was the first time Lynne had submitted paintings to Ferens open exhibition. She was delighted her acrylic-on-canvas, beach painting, 'Alight', was accepted at this prestigious annual art event.

"I'd bravely, perhaps recklessly, submitted some of my more experimental pictures. This was because I'd put forward more straightforward art to the East Coast open exhibition. So I was especially delighted and amazed that something was accepted " said Lynne. "It really is all about getting feedback so this outcome was very interesting."
